July 12 and 13 marked the finals of the 4th edition of Red Bull Neymar Jr’s Five—a competition organized in partnership with NR Sports. More than 50 teams, representing 40 countries, gathered at the Neymar Jr. Institute in Praia Grande, on the coast of São Paulo, to compete for the title.
In the mixed category, Hungary took home the championship trophy after defeating Spain. In the women’s category, Slovakia defeated Japan. As is tradition, the champions in both categories went on to face teams made up of Neymar Jr.’s friends.
Neymar da Silva Santos, the owner and partner of NR Sports, celebrated yet another successful edition of the competition that revives the passion for street soccer. “For us, as an institution, it’s a source of pride to bring a supporter of Neymar Jr. to the Institute for an event of this magnitude that they created together. Today we are representing 40 countries. It is a source of honor, pride, and satisfaction,” he said.
Johnny Ertl, the international project leader for Red Bull Neymar Jr.’s Five, highlighted the cultural exchange fostered during the competition. “We’re actually bigger than the World Cup in terms of the number of participating countries. This is my fourth time here, and the people are so nice. I love Brazil, I love the Brazilian people, the food is great, and our players have the best experience. Thank you so much for making this happen,” he said.
