The first feature film to star Neymar Jr. seems to be attracting a lot of attention from Chinese audiences. The movie *xXx: Return of Xander Cage*, starring Vin Diesel and Samuel L. Jackson, has already grossed more than $100 million in China and $272.252 million at theaters worldwide.
Directed by D.J. Caruso, the film surpassed $170.252 million at the box office in just six days in China. It also grossed $61.9 million over the weekend, making it the biggest opening for a Hollywood film in February in that country. The film posted its highest single-day gross to date last Tuesday (the 14th), earning $23.5 million.
“We joined forces with our partners Huahua Media, Shanghai Film Group, and m1905 to celebrate the film’s success in China. “We are particularly pleased with this opening because it is our first release in the Chinese market with Shanghai Film Group and Huahua since our recent long-term agreement,” said the president and CEO of Paramount Pictures.
