NR Sports, the company responsible for managing Neymar Jr.’s public image and the global administration of the Pelé Brand, is participating in one of the most symbolic projects for preserving sports history. In partnership with Google and Pelé Brand, the company is helping to reconstruct—using artificial intelligence—the legendary “Rua Javari Goal,” which Pelé himself considered the most beautiful goal of his career and which was never captured on camera.

Dated August 2, 1959, at the Rua Javari Stadium in São Paulo, the play remained alive for more than six decades only through the accounts of fans, sports journalists, and witnesses who had the privilege of witnessing that moment. During the play, Pelé performed three consecutive nutmegs on the defenders and the goalkeeper before shooting the ball into the goal without letting it touch the ground—a display of talent that has become part of the history of world soccer.

The project stems from the convergence of memory, research, and innovation to transform into an audiovisual experience a chapter that, until then, existed only in the memories of those who witnessed the King’s genius. More than just reconstructing a play, the initiative seeks to preserve soccer history and introduce new generations to Pelé’s legacy.

To ensure historical accuracy, the project brought together a multidisciplinary team consisting of historians, sports journalists, members of Pelé’s family, experts, and eyewitnesses. The team analyzed historical documents, photographs, records from that era, information about the architecture of the Rua Javari Stadium, and accounts from people who helped reconstruct the context of that game.

The research was combined with advanced audiovisual production techniques to depict elements such as the stadium setting, the atmosphere of the era, and the flow of the game. Technology was used as a tool in the service of memory, transforming a story passed down through generations into a unique experience.

“At NR Sports, we believe that great legacies must evolve without losing their essence. When we took over management of Pelé Brand, we made a commitment to preserve its history and find new ways to keep it alive. This partnership with Google shows that technology can be a powerful ally in connecting the past to the future, always with respect for the memory of the King,” explains Neymar da Silva Santos, CEO of NR Sports.

The project also features Neymar Jr. in the documentary, which underscores the importance of sharing the story of the King of Soccer.

“Pelé has inspired generations and continues to inspire people to this day. Being able to take part in a project that shares his story with those who never had the chance to see him play is very special. Technology helps immortalize what changed soccer forever,” says Neymar Jr.

NR Sports reaffirms Pelé’s importance as the greatest embodiment of Brazilian excellence in the world, creating original content aimed at new generations of soccer fans and supporters who did not experience his legacy firsthand but feel his influence. The Pelé Brand is not an ordinary asset but rather an intangible asset of immense cultural value.
