Red Bull Neymar Jr’s Five is back with the 2021 final in Qatar

After a brief hiatus in 2020, Red Bull Neymar Jr’s Five returns in 2021 with a new twist. This year, for the first time, the world final will be held in Qatar—the date will be announced shortly.

The qualifying phase for the women’s and mixed categories is already underway in more than 30 countries. In addition to teams qualifying through national tournaments, the five-a-side soccer championship will once again feature Jr’s Global Five, a team open to players of any nationality, with the entire roster selected via Instagram. Held since 2016, Red Bull Neymar Jr’s Five has brought together more than 400,000 players from 75 different countries across four editions. In 2019, Hungary (mixed) and Slovakia (women’s) were crowned champions.

The rules of the game remain the same: five players on each side of the court, and with every goal scored, the opposing team loses a player. The team that scores five goals first—or leads at the end of ten minutes—wins. The champions will receive the long-awaited trophy and the chance to play in a high-profile friendly match against Neymar Jr. and guests.
