The penultimate round of the Neymar Jr’s Five qualifiers will be held for the first time at Praça Charles Miller, across from Pacaembu Stadium in São Paulo. The competition, inspired by street soccer, is one of the world’s leading amateur soccer events and will feature both men’s and women’s teams this Saturday (25) and Sunday (26). More than 2,300 athletes will participate in this stage.
Registration for the São Paulo stage is now closed. There will be 302 men’s teams and 30 women’s teams on the court. According to Red Bull, a partner of NR Sports and the event’s organizer, the gates are scheduled to open at 7 a.m., and the group stage will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday. On Sunday, the knockout rounds will begin at 9 a.m.
In the men’s division, the most recent Brazilian champions in the sport—‘Bronk’s Futsal,’ which won the tournament in 2017, and ‘Ginga Street,’ the 2018 national champion—have confirmed their participation.
In the women’s category, the current Neymar Jr’s Five world champion, “Resenha 013,” will also participate in the tryouts.

Inspired by street soccer
Red Bull Neymar Jr’s Five is a global five-on-five competition inspired by street soccer. Players aged 16 to 25 are eligible to participate, with a limit of two 25-year-old players per team.
Each match lasts 10 minutes. Goalkeepers are not allowed, and for every goal scored by one team, the other loses a player. In 2018, more than 125,000 players from 62 countries registered for the competition. In the end, two teams dominated the courts and took home the titles: the boys from Mexico and the girls from Brazil.
The qualifying rounds are held in various countries, and the finalists will have the opportunity to play against Neymar Jr.’s team. The world final will be held in July at the Neymar Jr. Institute in Praia Grande, on the coast of São Paulo.
