Neymar Jr. Reveals the 7 Players Selected for the Red Bull Neymar Jr.’s Five 2022 Global Team
Seven highly skilled players impressed Neymar Jr. and secured their spot in the 2022 Red Bull Neymar Jr.’s Five World Final, along with 61 other teams from 34 countries that won their national finals in the world’s largest five-on-five tournament.
Over the past few weeks, hundreds of eager amateur soccer players from around the world have posted clips of their skills on Instagram, hoping to secure a spot in the grand Red Bull Neymar Jr.’s Five 2022 World Final in Qatar on May 24. Now, after review by Neymar Jr. and his scouts, seven talented young players have been individually selected to form the “Jr’s Global Five 2022” team.

“I’m happy to see so much talent on display again in clips on social media,” said Neymar Jr. “Three ‘Jr’s Global Five’ teams this year… wow! It’s going to be the biggest and best tournament, and I can’t wait to see everyone in action.”
The 2022 edition of Neymar Jr.’s exclusive tournament will be the biggest yet, with the qualifiers from last year’s canceled World Final joining a one-of-a-kind “Super Final.” This will not only mark the debut of “derby” matches, where teams from the same country face off, but will also feature three teams from the 2020, 2021, and 2022 “Jr’s Global Five” competing.
Made up of players of various nationalities, the newest team will meet for the first time in Qatar, just days before the World Final on May 24, where they will face the national finalists from 34 countries. A total of 64 teams in the mixed and women’s divisions will compete in this unique five-on-five format. There is no goalkeeper, and every time a team scores a goal, the opposing team loses a player. Action-packed matches last 10 minutes, or until one team loses all its players.
The Brazilian striker will be on the sidelines in Qatar to enjoy all the excitement before personally crowning the two new champions in the mixed and women’s divisions. And then, in what will be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the winners, they’ll get the chance to play a match against him and a team of world-class teammates.
“Facing the tournament champions is always a good challenge,” said Neymar Jr. “They get the chance to try a few dribbles on me, and I respond with a few of my own. It’s a lot of fun for everyone involved.”
The World Final, which will be broadcast live on Red Bull TV, takes place on May 24, for the first time at the Qatar Foundation in Doha. For more information, visit www.redbullneymarjrsfive.com
