Fan the Flame Launches Neymar Jr. Comics

Fan the Flame Concepts, an independent producer of comics and graphic novels, is proud to announce the launch of Neymar Jr. Comics, which combines Neymar Jr.’s popular persona and his great passion for comics into a new multimedia entertainment platform for his legion of fans around the world.

This new comic book series launches today with the first issue of Inked: Art Comes to Life. The plot of *Inked* follows Junior, the story’s protagonist, who is modeled after Neymar Jr. and uses magical ink to bring the tattoos on his body to life. He then sets out in search of his sister, who has been kidnapped by a mysterious cartel with ties to the supernatural. Created by the bestselling author of The New York Times and comic book and graphic novel writer Jason Burns, the story of Inked It takes place entirely in Brazil, Neymar Jr.’s home country, and introduces readers to a world full of quirky characters, many with mystical powers. The universe of this comic series is designed to feature complex, ongoing storylines that are, at the same time, accessible enough for new readers to jump in at any point in the narrative.

“Like many boys, I had two dreams for when I grew up: to be a professional soccer player and a superhero. I’ve already been very blessed to be able to play soccer at the highest level,” said Neymar Jr. “Now I have the chance to offer my fans around the world a new, more modern, and powerful way of telling stories through comics. This digital distribution platform is unique and will allow us to publish the comics simultaneously in multiple languages.”

Initially released in Portuguese, Spanish, French, and English, the Neymar Jr. comics will be available in digital format exclusively through the website neymarcomics.com and an exclusive app (iOS and Android).  Readers will be able to purchase individual issues or subscribe to the entire series. Additional content and short episodes will be available on the platform for free download, as well as on social media channels.
“As a kid who grew up reading comic books, I hope these stories and characters can inspire and entertain people around the world,” added Neymar Jr.

We are very excited to partner with him on this special venture, which will bring these compelling stories to a global audience as part of a long-term, multi-platform strategy.”

A portion of the proceeds from sales of the Neymar Jr. Comics will benefit the Instituto Projeto Neymar Jr. (INJR), the charitable initiative founded by Neymar Jr. and his family that aims to provide more opportunities for children, teenagers, and families living in socially vulnerable situations through education, culture, sports, and health.
Neymar Jr. Comics has additional titles in development, including a science fiction series, stories for different age groups, and others with biographical content focused on the life of Neymar Jr. Fan the Flame created the project with the authorization of NR Sports, the company responsible for managing Neymar Jr.’s public image. The plan is also to expand the Neymar Comics franchise through licensing agreements with film, TV, animation, and video game studios. Partnerships with major brands are already being considered.
