Fan The The Flame, Neymar Jr.'s partner, announced the launch of Neymar Jr. Comics' second original digital comic series, titled *Red Card*, as well as the magazine's final issue.
Inked: Art Animates Life #4 and the Red Card prequel issue are being released at ComicCon Experience (CCXP) this week in São Paulo. The event is now one of the three largest comic book conventions in the world, with 250,000 fans expected to attend. New York Times bestselling author and comic book creator Jason M. Burns developed both series.
“I’m very happy to have these new issues released in conjunction with the biggest comic book convention in my country,” said Neymar Jr. “I hope all my fans enjoy these two unique stories and are inspired by the creative characters. A work of art.”
The plot of *Red Card* begins after a space mission leads to alien spores—known as Shuttle Dust—being released into the atmosphere. As a result, most of the population is transformed into mindless, insect-like creatures. The world descends into chaos, and those who remain turn to a man named The Zoltan, who hosts dangerous, gladiator-style soccer matches where players must face the Shuttle Dusters. Junior, his star player, tries to dominate the matches and free the survivors’ camp.
As part of the CCXP festivities, two artists from Neymar Jr. Comics will be on hand to greet fans and sell original art prints in the event’s Artists Alley: lead artist Fernando Peniche and Gonzalo Garcia, the artist behind the short series for Inked. In addition, Thieres Paim, a renowned tattoo artist from Nautica Tattoo—who created the lion tattoo on Neymar Jr.’s hand, which inspired a key character in *Inked*—will meet fans at the event on the 9th.
