Neymar Jr. on Nickelodeon

Published on April 25, 2018

Nickelodeon airs a Neymar Jr. animated series created by Maurício de Sousa

Last Tuesday (April 24), the animated film Neymar Jr., inspired by the Brazilian soccer star and created by cartoonist Mauricio de Sousa, premiered on the Nickelodeon pay-TV channel.

In all, there will be 20 brand-new 1-minute segments, each airing at 5:00 p.m. during the commercial break for the series “The Loud House.”

“"Neymar's joy and boyish charm inspired us to create his character when he was still a child—a time when dreams are felt most intensely. Today, he has become a role model in sports, and the drawings created for his debut on Nick reflect all of that with a lot of humor and love," says Mauricio de Sousa.

Filled with adventure and excitement, the episodes will feature Neymar Jr. facing off against giant monsters and pulling off out-of-this-world dribbles—all while maintaining close family ties, as shown in scenes featuring special appearances by his sister and his mother. In addition to the soccer ball, Neymar Jr. will have his friends as great allies to help him face whatever lies ahead. All of this takes place in an atmosphere of fun and learning, depicted through the unmistakable illustrations of Maurício de Sousa.
