At an event featuring Neymar Jr., Nike unveils the Mercurial 360

On Wednesday (the 7th), Nike brought together star athletes such as Neymar Jr., Cristiano Ronaldo, and Mbappé to unveil its new 2018 soccer cleat model. The new Mercurial has been redesigned and reimagined to be the model worn by star players at the 2018 World Cup.

The Mercurial 360 is available in high-top and low-top versions. The brand’s classic Flyknit fabric is also featured in the model, which is primarily orange. According to Nike’s senior design director, Jeongwoo Lee, “With previous Mercurials, we based everything on a size 9, but with the Mercurial 360, we can offer a properly proportioned fit across all sizes. Each size has a unique chassis designed to align with the expected bone structure.”

The launch was so important to Nike that the brand held an event to unveil the Mercurial 360, bringing together Neymar Jr., his teammate Kevin Trapp, Alexis Sanchez, former player Ronaldo “Fenômeno,” and other athletes.
