Registration for Neymar Jr.’s Five in Brazil is now open
The third edition of Red Bull’s Neymar Jr’s Five is coming up, and registration is now open in Brazil. The competition will once again bring together amateur athletes in various cities across Brazil to compete in head-to-head matches to determine who will advance to the grand final of the global tournament. Interested teams can register at website of the competition.
The qualifying rounds will begin in São Paulo on March 10 and 11 and will continue in nine other cities through May. The winners of the qualifiers in each city—in both the mixed category and the new women’s category—will represent their region in the national finals, which will also be held in São Paulo in late June.
The big winners of the Brazilian final will wear their country’s jersey in the world final this July and face off against countries such as Japan, France, Spain, and many others, competing for a chance to travel to Paris and watch a game featuring Neymar Jr.
Santos (SP), São Paulo (SP), Rio de Janeiro (RJ), Campinas (SP), Curitiba (PR), Belo Horizonte (MG), Manaus (AM), Brasília (DF), Porto Alegre (RS), and Recife (PE) will host women’s and mixed qualifiers for the competition. In 2017, Brazil was represented by Bronk’s Futsal, the winner of the qualifying tournament in Campinas (SP). They were eliminated in the tournament’s knockout stage, and the title went to the Romanian team Tao United.
