PUMA: Neymar Jr. Stars in the New Future Z Soccer Cleat Commercial
On Monday (the 11th), PUMA unveiled the innovative FUTURE Z 1.1 soccer cleat. Neymar Jr. starred in the video produced specifically for the launch. The athlete embodies the dynamism of the cleat, which will also be worn by other soccer players in this edition.
Get ready for “DRIVE THEM CRAZY” with the GAME.FUTURE Z’s GAME. ON. edition will be worn by the world’s most dynamic and creative players: Neymar Jr., James Madison, Eugénie le Sommer, Marco Reus, and Dzsenifer Marozsán.
The FUTURE Z is designed to enhance the playing style of the world’s most creative and entertaining players. Built around an adaptive FUZIONFIT+ compression band, the cleat provides optimized lockdown and support for explosive moments. The upper is made of a new fabric material coated with a lightweight layer of GripControl Pro, which provides superior touch and greater ball control. An outsole featuring a state-of-the-art Dynamic Motion System has been developed for advanced traction that will drive the opposition crazy.
“The biggest innovation in the FUTURE Z is the FUZIONFIT+ compression band, which is positioned across the midfoot,” said Lilly Cocks, Team Sports Footwear Developer. “The band was developed using a special blend of polyester and spandex yarns, along with special technical yarns that create the perfect balance of compression, comfort, and durability, giving the wearer the feeling of a second skin.”
PUMA continues to break barriers with the FUTURE Z, developing a new, lightweight technology system—the outsole featuring the Dynamic Movement System. The eye-catching Z-shaped base reduces weight while providing 360-degree support around the foot, keeping the base stable so that star players can accelerate, move, and dribble with devastating effect.
FUTURE Z was developed with the help of the medical staff at some of PUMA's top clubs around the world to ensure that the cleat features state-of-the-art design elements, including the placement of the center stud along the cleat's axis, to enhance quick changes of direction.
“A good fit and comfort are essential for the most agile and creative players. To support this type of player, we developed an outsole made of a super-lightweight PEBA material that underwent numerous rigorous tests during the development phase. During 20-meter tests, players were on average 3% faster when wearing the FUTURE Z compared to when they wore its predecessor,” said Florian Nemetz, Senior PLM Manager for Team Sports Footwear. “This soccer cleat was developed using key insights and analyses that allowed us to innovate and evolve the FUTURE line while maintaining the FUTURE DNA.”
