Neymar Jr. is looking forward to facing 64 teams from 34 countries in the Red Bull NJR’s Five Final
The Red Bull Neymar Jr’s Five World Final will be broadcast live on Red Bull TV in four languages (Portuguese, English, Spanish, and Turkish) on May 24
64 teams from 34 different countries have qualified and will soon arrive in Doha for the world’s largest five-on-five soccer tournament. The two world champions in the mixed and women’s divisions will have the opportunity to face off against Neymar Jr. and enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
“This tournament is so special,” said Neymar Jr. “The format is truly unique, the players are incredibly skilled, and I can’t wait to see them all in action next week. This is the first Red Bull Neymar Jr’s Five World Final in three years, and everyone is excited.”
Five soccer players from around the world are preparing to compete in the 2022 Red Bull Neymar Jr.’s World Final on May 24 in Doha, Qatar. The country will host the final event for the first time.
Bringing together the teams that advanced through their local qualifiers to become national champions in 2021 and 2022, this year’s edition will be the largest yet. There are 64 teams from 34 nations that will try to outplay all the others in the mixed and women’s categories, and, for the first time, there is the potential for “derby” matches, where two teams from the same country could face off.
The rules remain the same. There are no goalkeepers, and every time a team scores a goal, the opposing team loses a player. Matches last 10 minutes or until one team loses all five players.
Joining the national champions will be a trio of teams—Jr’s Global Five from the past three years—each with seven players who have earned their spot in the world final. They impressed Neymar Jr. with their soccer tricks and skills on social media.
“The Jr’s Global Five teams truly embody what this competition is all about,” said Neymar Jr. “Players from different countries, who have never met before, coming together to celebrate a shared passion: soccer. There may be a language barrier, but these players always let soccer speak for them.”
The tournament kicks off with the group stage on May 23, followed by the knockout rounds on May 24, where Neymar Jr. himself will be on hand to personally crown two new champions in the mixed and women’s divisions. The Brazilian forward will then invite the winning teams back onto the field so that each can play a “Super Final” against him and his friends.
The World Final will be broadcast live on Red Bull TV on May 24, starting at 7:30 p.m. local time (1:30 p.m. in Brazil)—and for the first time, it will be hosted by the Qatar Foundation in Doha.
