How many pairs of PUMA Neymar Jr. soccer cleats has he worn?
Take a look back and see a retrospective of the star player with each model;
This Sunday, September 12, marks the one-year anniversary of the announcement of the partnership between NR Sports and PUMA. The brand’s collaboration with Neymar Jr. continues to make waves in the market, with new product launches and exclusive collections coming out almost every month. But do you know how many different models of soccer cleats the star has worn during this time?
Our team compiled a breakdown of Neymar Jr.’s performance with each of the nine pairs of PUMA cleats he wore through September 9, 2021. In total, he played in 44 games, scored 25 goals, and had 18 assists.
The forward’s first official game wearing PUMA was on September 13, 2020, in a 1-0 loss to Olympique de Marseille. The “debut” marked the return of the classic PUMA KING, which had previously been worn by sports legends such as Pelé and Maradona.
A few weeks later, on October 2, Neymar Jr. returned to the field wearing KING and scored two goals in PSG’s 6–1 victory over Angers. He recorded his first assist on October 10 in the 1–0 win over Caen.
Despite this, the cleats Neymar Jr. has worn most often are the Future Z Spectra and Brazil models, with eight appearances each. The Brazil model—which he has worn so far exclusively in Brazilian national team games—has a slight edge, as the forward has scored four goals with that cleat, compared to three with the Spectra.
Here's a summary of Neymar Jr.'s history with each model.
