Thiago Braz leva 5 pódios no início da temporada européia do World Athletics Tour 2022

O atleta brasileiro foi convocado para o mundial da categoria e agora foca na competição que será disputada na Sérvia entre 18 e 20 de março

Impressionando com resultados que melhoram a cada salto e a cada campeonato disputado por Thiago Braz nesta temporada do World Athletics Tour, o atleta segue como um dos melhores no circuito indoor que está sendo realizado na Europa. Das 6 competições, o recordista olímpico conquistou 5 medalhas e agora se prepara para os campeonatos em Belgrado.

A temporada começou para Thiago Braz em 9 de fevereiro, no International Pole Vault Invitational, em Uppsala, na Suécia. Ao saltar 5.70m, o atleta não ganhou medalha, mas isso era apenas o começo. Em Lodz, na Polônia, durante o Orlen Cup, o brasileiro saltou 5.71m, subindo no pódio logo em sua segunda competição no circuito, já conquistando uma medalha de prata.
Sempre ao lado de outros grandes atletas do salto com vara, como Piotr Lisek, Ernst John Obiena e Christopher Nilsen, Thiago continuou levando o Brasil à grandes alturas na Europa. No Meeting em Liévin, na França, conquistou mais uma medalha de prata, subindo no pódio em segundo lugar após o grande salto de 5.81m.

No GP da Inglaterra não foi diferente. 5.81m, terceira medalha de prata, segundo lugar do pódio. O primeiro bronze veio em Torun, na Orlen Copernicus Cup, ao saltar 5.71m e então a primeira pausa. Durante o fim de fevereiro, Thiago Braz voltou à Padova, na Itália, continuando sua preparação para as próximas etapas, ao lado do técnico Vitaly Petrov.

“Treinei muito para esse circuito e estou muito confiante para ir ainda além dos meus limites nas próximas disputas”, disse o medalhista olímpico. “Não são provas fáceis, a competição é muito forte, mas fico feliz em ver que estou sempre entre os melhores. Estou animado para dar o melhor de mim no resto da temporada.”

O World Athletics Indoor Tour 2022 retornou no da 5 de março e Thiago Braz mostrou novamente que é um dos grandes nomes da temporada. No Perche Elite Tour, na França, o brasileiro saltou 5.91m, a segunda maior altura da competição e sua maior marca do ano, até agora. Com a medalha de bronze no peito, o atleta já foca nos confrontos que enfrentará nos campeonatos Indoor em Belgrado, na Sérvia.

“A expectativa de fazer grandes resultados no ano é sempre grande e ver os frutos do meu trabalho só me dá uma vontade maior de saltar ainda mais alto. Estou focado e seguro para os próximos desafios. Também estou de olho nas próximas Olimpíadas. É uma longa jornada, mas sei que o Brasil inteiro saltará comigo”, comenta Thiago sobre seu desempenho.

O desafio da World Athletics Tour Indoor Championships 2022 na Sérvia começa no dia 18 e irá até o dia 20. O torneio será um dos maiores da temporada, contendo, além do salto com vara, outros 25 eventos em Belgrado. Lá, Thiago Braz irá atrás de mais um grande desempenho.

Foram 5 medalhas, até agora: 3 de prata e 2 de bronze. A temporada está apenas no começo, mas baseado no que já vimos de Thiago Braz nas pistas, é possível acreditar que o brasileiro ainda voará alto ao longo do ano.

Thiago Braz continues to conquer great results and medals at the World Athletics Tour 2022

The Brazilian athlete has climbed the podium 5 out of 6 times in this international indoor circuit season and now has his focus set on Serbia’s championships

Impressing with results that improve with each jump and each championship disputed by Thiago Braz in this World Athletics Tour season, the athlete remains as one of the best in the indoor circuit being held in Europe. Out of the 6 competitions, the Olympic record holder won 5 medals and now prepares for the Belgrade championships.

The season kicked off for Thiago Braz on February 9, at the International Pole Vault Invitational in Uppsala, Sweden. After jumping 5.70m, the athlete did not win a medal, but that was just the beginning. In Lodz, Poland, during the Orlen Cup, the Brazilian jumped 5.71m, already climbing the podium in his second competition on the circuit, getting a silver medal.
Always alongside other great pole vaulting athletes, such as Piotr Lisek, Ernst John Obiena and Christopher Nilsen, Thiago continued to take Brazil to great heights in Europe. At the Meeting in Liévin, France, he won another silver medal, climbing the podium in second place after jumping 5.81m.

During England’s GP things were not different. 5.81m, third silver medal, second place on the podium. The first bronze came in Torun, at the Orlen Copernicus Cup, when he jumped 5.71m. And then, the first break. During the end of February, Thiago Braz returned to Padova, Italy, continuing his preparation for the next stages, alongside coach Vitaly Petrov.
“I trained a lot for this circuit and I’m very confident to go beyond my limits in the next competitions”, said the Olympic medalist. “It won’t be easy, the competition is strong, but I am happy to see that I am always among the best. I’m excited to do my best for the rest of the season.”

The World Athletics Indoor Tour 2022 returned on March 5 and Thiago Braz did it again, showcasing that he is one of the best of the season. At the Perche Elite Tour, in France, the Brazilian jumped 5.91m, the second highest height of the competition and his highest mark of the year, so far. With the bronze medal on his chest, the athlete is already focusing on the confrontations he will face at the Indoor Championships in Belgrade, Serbia.

“The expectation of achieving great results this year is always huge and seeing the fruits of my work only makes me want to jump even higher. I’m focused and safe for the next challenges. I’m also looking forward to the next Olympics. It’s a long journey, but I know that my entire country will jump with me”, says Thiago about his performance.

The challenge of the World Athletics Tour Indoor Championships 2022 in Serbia starts on the 18th and will run until the 20th. The tournament will be one of the season’s biggest, containing, in addition to pole vault, another 25 events in Belgrade. There, Thiago Braz will chase after another great performance.
